Development project for a Northern Als resort

Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation join forces with the Municipality and Linak, to establish a development company

Based on the main goals for Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation, the Foundation has decided to engage in a development project focused on establishing a holiday resort in the northern part of the island, Als.

It is an ambitious project, in which the Foundation, Linak A/S and the Municipality of Sønderborg have joined forces to establish a development company.  Over the next three years this company will prepare a final project, including agreements with investors as well as operators.

The Northen Als project is the only project (out of ten projects) in the entire country to receive dispensation to build close to the shoreline. In this area it will thus be possible to establish a resort with hotels, vacation apartments, camping sites, a marina and access to the Universe Science Park.

The idea originates from a group of visionary people in Nordals.  They have demonstrated great enthusiasm and put a lot of work into carrying the project to its present level.  By establishing the development company, the project will now be anchored in an organization that unites municipality, business community and local citizens in cooperation in the project.

Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation sees this project as a unique opportunity to develop the area around northern Als, where the headquarters of Danfoss are also located, and at the same time create more employment for the area.

Background information about the project (in Danish) can be found at the homepage for the Municipality of Sønderborg.  Please follow this link
