Culture in the South (Kultur i Syd) has planned a gigantic music event on the Concert Square in Sønderborg, on Tuesday 11th June 2019. This will take place when Bon Jovi comes to Sønderborg and performs in front of 35,000 people.

Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi is the name of a rock band that was formed in 1983 in New Jersey, USA. The band has sold more than 34 million albums in the USA, and more than 120 million in the rest of the world. Their best-selling album ‘Slippery When Wet’ from 1986 includes their most famous song ‘Livin' On a Prayer’.

Sønderborg has been host to many famous music stars, but this concert is going to be the largest ever for Culture in the South, as well as for Sønderborg. Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation is proud to have helped make this possible by donating just under one million DKK towards the event.

Bon Jovi begin their ‘This House Is Not For Sale’ tour in November 2018 and will be coming to Sønderborg in June 2019 where they will give their one and only concert in Denmark. Bon Jovi will be bringing a ‘special guest’ along; Def Leppard itself is a big name.

Def Leppard

Def Leppard is a British heavy metal band which has been going since 1977. The albums ‘Pyromania’, ‘Hysteria’ and ‘Andrenalize’ have in particular sold in big numbers. Def Leppard has previously performed in Denmark; for example, in 2008, at the Rock under the Bridge in Middelfart. Their most recent album ’Mirrorball’ was released in June 2011.

It will be a unique experience which is the reason for Bitten & Mads Clausen’s support. The concert will attract guests and create a positive attitude to the area and, as a result, portray Sønderborg as a town with many opportunities and possibilities.

Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation also supported the concert square on Kær Vestermark in connection with the Scout Jamboree in 2017. At that time, electricity supplies were put under ground and good access routes were secured to the area. The strength of the infrastructure in the area will be demonstrated again, when 35,000 people arrive at the Bon Jovi concert.

The KULTURPARTNEREN, aided by LiveNation and Culture in the South, will be arranging the concert. Ticket sales will start on the 2nd November 2018. See more by following this link.
