With three consecutive wins, Alsik Hotel & Spa in Sønderborg has demonstrated its ability to consistently create experiences that impress its guests.
The prestigious honour was awarded on Wednesday evening at the Danish Travel Awards in Copenhagen’s Cirkusbygningen – one of the most respected award ceremonies in the travel, tourism and aviation industry.
Alsik Hotel & Spa is owned by Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation and is one of the Foundation's key partnerships. It is on the basis of these partnerships that the Foundation works to promote development in the Sønderborg area.
Per Egebæk Have, Chairman of the Board of Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation, is delighted with the prestigious award and says:
As owners of Alsik Hotel & Spa, we are incredibly proud of the hotel's continued success. It is remarkable that a hotel in Sønderborg, outside the capital, has won the award for Best Luxury Hotel several years in a row. Alsik plays a crucial role in strengthening the area by raising awareness, attracting visitors and creating jobs. Many factors must come together to develop a region. Alsik is an important part of the overall strategy. Congratulations to all Alsik employees and thank you for your efforts!
Per Egebæk Have, Chairman of the Board

A small group from Alsik attended the ceremony and accepted the award
As a leading luxury hotel, Alsik attracts visitors from near and far, putting Sønderborg on the map as an attractive destination. In this way, the hotel contributes to the focus of Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation – namely the development of Sønderborg through job creation and population growth.
Alsik Hotel & Spa won in the category ‘Denmark's Best Luxury Hotel’ ahead of Dragsholm Castle and Hotel d'Angleterre, among others.
On the same evening, Alsie Express, which flies between Sønderborg and Copenhagen, won the award for Best Domestic Route. Alsie Express is another key partnership in the Foundation's work, and so it was a strong local set-up that was present at the award ceremony and together put Sønderborg on the map.
The award is based on a nationwide consumer survey conducted by the market research company Epinion. The recognition is therefore something very special because it is based on the guests' own experiences.
