Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation has a two-tier management system with a Board of Directors and an Executive Board. The Board of Directors approves the overall direction of the Foundation’s development in the form of strategies and goals.

The Executive Board develops the strategy and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Foundation as well as executing the strategy.

Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation has divided its activities into three areas: Ownership of Danfoss, Asset Management, Projects & Awards.

Board of Directors
Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation is run by a Board of Directors with nine members meeting four or five times a year. At the ordinary meetings, the Board of Directors makes decisions on all award cases and other issues of significance to the Foundation.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors consists of nine members and is made up of Bitten and Mads Clausen’s descendants, together with external appointees and employee representatives.

The Board of Directors is responsible for managing the Foundation’s funds in accordance with the Foundation’s aim and its long-term interests. The Foundation’s Board of Directors has established the framework for the work through rules of procedure. The rules of procedure describe, the guidelines for the Board of Directors’ work, its relationship with the Executive Board and the Foundation’s organisation, the setting up and regulation of the Foundation’s committees, its relationship with the public, and other subjects.

At the four to five ordinary meetings held over the course of the year, the Board of Directors make decisions on all award cases and other issues of significance to the Foundation. 

The Foundation’s Board of Directors have appointed two committees. The Investment Committee’s task is to establish and maintain a strategy for the Foundation’s asset management. The Grant Committee takes care of the management and prioritisation of projects and grants for charitable purposes.
