In October 2017, Irmela Heinsius was appointed as the managing director of Hotel Alsik in Sonderborg, which is the first hotel in Denmark that is managed by RIMC. Irmela Heinsius is German and has started her new job while the hotel is still being built. She is now living in Sønderborg in order to be close to the construction site.
One of the first important tasks for the new hotel director will be to create the hotel management team. This will happen during the Spring of 2018. The remaining approx. 130 positions which are divided between the hotel, the restaurants, the conference facilities and the spa, will be filled at the start of 2019.
Having been in the business for almost 30 years, Irmela Heinsius has an impressive wealth of experience within the international hotel industry including hotel management and sales & marketing. She has been responsible for several start-ups of new hotels and is thus experienced in the planning of pre-opening activities.
Per Have, CEO of the Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation says: “We are most pleased to have RIMC in charge of managing hotel Alsik. With their choice of Irmela Heinsius as the managing director, the project has been ensured a hotel manager who with her vast experience within the industry can support our visions for the hotel.”
The managing owners of RIMC International Hotels & Resorts Gert Prantner and Marek N. Riegger consider themselves lucky to have Irmela Heinsius on board. “The competence and experience which Irmela Heinsius has via her international background which includes very responsible jobs in iconic hotels, coupled with her experience with the building and pre-opening of new hotels, is a true asset for this unique hotel project in Sønderborg.”
