Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation has granted DKK 1 million to an ambitious research project, "Advancing Foundation Ownership," at Copenhagen Business School (CBS).

For Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation, the support is an investment in future-proofing and developing the very model upon which the Foundation is built. The new knowledge generated by the project will benefit the participating parties while also contributing to strengthening the competitiveness and positive societal impact of commercial foundations, both in Denmark and internationally.

The ambition is to establish CBS as a globally leading knowledge hub in this field. The new research project is a continuation of a previously successful project and will be anchored within the newly established "Center for Commercial Foundations" at CBS.

The project brings together several of Denmark's largest commercial foundations with the intention of generating new insights into how foundation ownership can be optimised for the benefit of both the companies and society. Its purpose is to examine the factors that drive success in foundation-owned companies – ranging from governance models and innovation to active ownership and the measurement of societal value.

The grant from Bitten & Mads Clausen's Foundation is part of a larger, collaborative effort, where a broad group of Denmark's leading commercial foundations have joined forces to fund the project. This wide-ranging collaboration underscores the importance of strengthening the Danish model of foundation ownership, which is a unique and valuable part of the Danish business landscape.
